Elaine Holt, Deputy Chair of the HS2 Ltd board
With 30 years’ experience in the transport and service industry, Elaine is highly experienced in working in complex, highly regulated environments which are subject to intense public, political and media scrutiny. In addition to her wide, board level experience in construction and infrastructure she also has extensive railway operations experience and has a successful track record of running large customer operations and managing organisations through periods of significant change
Elaine has held a number of non-executive or chair roles including serving over 6 years as a Non-Executive Director (NED) of Highways England. One of her current NED roles is Deputy Chair of HS2.
Prior to this, she held a number of senior roles within the UK rail industry including Chairman and CEO of Directly Operated Railways, Chairman of East Coast and Managing Director of First Capital Connect. Elaine was also Executive Vice President Guest Experience at Carnival UK running all operations of P&O Cruises and Cunard.
Sharon Flood, Non-Executive Director for Getlink (former NED for Network Rail)
Sharon Flood has a long-standing career as a Non-executive Director and is currently serving on the Boards of Getlink SA, Pets at Home PLC, Cityfibre Ltd and will shortly join the Board of Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust. She has recently stepped down from Chairing Seraphine Group PLC and previously Chaired S T DuPont SA. Former roles include Chair of Audit at Network Rail and Crest Nicholson PLC. She is currently a Trustee of the University of Cambridge and has previously been a Trustee of the Science Museum Group and Shelter. Her executive career included Group Chief Financial Officer at Sun Capital Partners and Finance Director, Department Stores, John Lewis Partnership.
Sharon holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Bath, an MBA from Insead and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Tracey Killen, Non-Executive Director for Morgan Sindall
Tracey is an independent non-executive director for Morgan Sindall and a Fellow of Be the Business, a not-for-profit movement that helps every firm in the country improve it’s performance. She was previously executive director, people for John Partnership, where she was a member of the executive team and responsible for shaping and delivering a distinctive and competitive employment proposition. Tracey was also chair of the Partnerships’ Golden Jubilee Trust, a people-focused charitable trust.
